On Thursday 27th August we had a practice with a difference, namely a visit to ring the newly rehung single bell at St Margaret Pattens on Eastcheap. The bell was raised, but when it was set by the 3rd person, the stay broke. On inspection, this old stay was cracked in an unusual place along a pre-existing flaw, and unlikely to have been caused by our ringers.
Following this somewhat truncated visit, we crossed the road to Nolan’s flat where he treated us to a handsome party. It was also good to see Mark White join us again after his recent illness.
